DELEGATIONS

  • Heritage Conservation - presentation presented by Lindsay Bourque, RDOS Rural Projects Coordinator and Mark Woods, RDOS Community Services Manager.
  • Osoyoos Refugee Project - presented by Michael and Vera Ryan.

BUSINESS

  • Public Washroom Caretaker and Town Facilities Janitorial Council approved the Contract Modification Agreement to extend the Public Washroom Caretaker contract with Evergreen Building Maintenance to July 1, 2016. Staff directed to prepare a tender for Spring 2016 for a single contract for Town building janitorial and public washroom cleanings.
  • Incident Reporting Policy - Council adopted this draft document as the “Incident Reporting Policy”.
  • Community Services Advisory Committee – Council voted to repeal Bylaw No. 940 and all amendments thereto and approved the new terms of reference for the committee.
  • Establishing a Local Conservation Fund - Council provided direction to include a public engagement process in the 2016 business plan, to assess public support for the development of local or regionally supported conservation fund. A decision on supporting a conservation fund and the method to be employed would be considered after a review of the community input.

REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • The fundraising thermometer sign for the Museum located at the Osoyoos Home Building Centre was taken down and will be brought back at a later date. For clarification, the sign was not taken down due to vandalism.
  • Airport Steering Committee is reviewing submission for study.
  • A reminder to use the new bicycle racks and ashtrays downtown.
  • December 4 and 5 is the 27th Annual Christmas Lite-Up.  Click here for more information.

The public is encouraged to attend the Committee of the Whole meetings which take place in Council Chambers at 9:00AM on the morning of the Regular Open Council meetings at 2:00 PM to learn additional in-depth information regarding upcoming business.
