NOTICE Rural District Water System #8 Interrupted Service

This is an important message from the Town of Osoyoos. 

 

Image result for noticeAt this time we are experiencing a major electrical issue at the main station for Rural District Water System #8. Town Staff and FortisBC are working diligently to resolve the issue and have the water restored as soon as possible. 

 

Check below for updates on the status or call the Public Works at 250.495.6213.
Updates will be broadcast on local radio station 102.9FM



11:00 am Update #6 - August 24 (Work Completed)
-The upgrades to the Power Transformers has been completed.

The Town of Osoyoos Public Works and FortisBC thank you for your patience and cooperation.

If you have any issues with your water supply please contact Public Works at 250.495.6213.


 


9:10 am Update # 5 - August 21

On Monday, August 24, 2015 from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm FortisBC will be replacing the Power Transformers for the Well Station in Rural District Water System #8.

What does that mean?

You will have NO WATER on Monday, August 24 from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Will you lose power to your home?

-FortisBC does not anticipate power loss.  However, if that occurs please contact FortisBC directly at 1.866.436.7847.

How should you prepare?

-Please be sure to store/reserve enough water you may require for a 12 hour period.

11:51 am Update #4 - August 20

- Pumps will continue to run at minimum capacity today.

- Irrigation will be allowed at a reduced rate and we ask that you only irrigate if needed.

- Full repair will be dependent on when FortisBC receives the necessary parts.

- Updates will continue on a daily basis.


7:50 am Update #3 - August 19

- Pumps will continue to run at minimum capacity today.

- Irrigation will be allowed at a reduced rate and we ask that you only irrigate if needed.

- Full repair will be dependent on when FortisBC receives the necessary parts.

- Updates will continue on a daily basis.


4:45 pm Update # 2 - August 18

- Pumps will be running at minimum capacity overnight.

- Reminder NO irrigating until further notice.

- Full repair will be dependent on when FortisBC receives the necessary parts.


3:15 pm Update #1 - August 18

- Transformer is down and FortisBC is looking for a replacement.

- Reminder to all residents please do not irrigate at this time to assist with the recovery of the water system.

- At this time we do not have an estimated time of repair.
