Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Society

The SOSCP (South Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Program) together with the OSSS (Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Society) have been working on removing weeds and planting native vegetation around the information kiosk on road 22. We have already had a couple of days weeding and one planting day and the site is looking much better. We do have a few more plants we would like to get in the ground this fall.

Sunday October 26th 10 am to 2:30pm will be our last planting day and we have native wood’s roses and cottonwood trees to plant at the site.  The new signs at the road 22 Kiosk were installed in May of this year and give information on native plants and animals.  The parking lot at the kiosk is well used by hikers, hunters and people on wine tours just wanting to stop and stretch their legs.

Please come out to help beautify the area and create a small oasis for our native animals. Coffee and cookies will be provided!
