Osoyoos Waterfront Steering Committee (OWSC)

The purpose of the Okanagan Waterfront Steering Committee is to assist Council in implementing the Osoyoos Waterfront Master Plan (OWMP), approved by Council on October 19, 2008.   The scope of the Plan includes but is not limited to parkland, pathway and facility improvements, conservation areas, roads and parking areas, and a joint venture marina by the Town and Osoyoos Shoreline Development Ltd. (OSD).

The Steering Committee is responsible for:

  • Collect and process technical, financial, operational and other information on potential waterfront projects.
  • Provide recommendations to Council on project development priorities, phasing, design and funding, including options.
  • Engage with specific community stakeholders as necessary to obtain their input and feedback on potential projects.
  • Design and implement a wider community participation process.
  • Solicit expert professional advice on waterfront and marina development.
  • Update and revise the Osoyoos Waterfront Master Plan (OWMP) as needed.

The Osoyoos Waterfront Steering Committee shall be appointed by resolution of Council and will comprise:

  • Councillor CJ Rhodes
  • Chief Administration Officer (CAO) 
  • Director of Planning & Development Services 
  • Terry Underwood, TRUE Consulting Group
