OATHS OF OFFICE FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR 2015 – 2018 TERM
- Each Council member swore the oath office before the Corporate Officer. Mayor McKortoff welcomed and congratulated the new Council and Water Councillors and thanked those present for attending the inaugural meeting.
BUSINESS
- 2015 Council Meeting Schedule – Council resolved that the January 5 and August 4 regular Council meetings be cancelled and the 2015 Regular Council Meeting Schedule approved.
- Appointments to Regional District of the Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) Board and Okanagan Regional Library Board (ORL)
Mayor McKortoff appointed to the RDOS Board with Councillor Rhodes as the alternate.
Councillor Youngberg appointed to the ORL Board with Councillor Campol as the alternate.

- Review of Orientation Process - CAO Romanko congratulated the new Council on behalf of staff and administration and provided an overview of the planned orientation schedule.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Christmas Light up & Parade on December 4, 5 and 6. Parade is on Friday night at 6:30 pm, activities and open businesses. Following is Santa’s Night Out at Sonora Centre. Smitty’s Toys for Tots to Teens free breakfast with donation of an unwrapped toy. Click here for the Town’s online Event Calendar.
- BC Buy Local Week - December 1 to 7
Copies of reports are available within the Council Agenda packages located on the Town’s website.
The public is encouraged to attend the Committee of the Whole meetings which take place in Council Chambers at 9:00AM on the morning of the Regular Open Council meetings at 2:00 PM to learn additional in-depth information regarding upcoming business.
