EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Building Inspector Deadline May 20 2022
The Resort Municipality of Osoyoos, BC located in the beautiful South Okanagan Valley is accepting applications for the position of Building Inspector.
Position Information
The Planning and Development Services Department is looking for an experienced and customer service-focused individual to join the planning and development team on a full-time basis. As a member of the team, you will review building and construction plans, issue building permits, and perform on-site building inspections.
Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Planning, you will ensure that design and materials used during the construction, renovation, and alteration of buildings within the Community are compliant with the provisions set out in the BC Building Code, specifically Part 9, BC Plumbing Code, Osoyoos' Zoning Bylaw, other municipal bylaws, policies, and procedures.
You will have completed grade 12 and possess a Diploma in Building technology from a recognized technical institute or you will have experience at the journeyman level in one of the building trades. You will also have BOABC Level Two (2) Certification (inclusive of the Plumbing Level One (1) Certification) OR you will have passed the BOABC Level Three (3) examination with certification pending upon completion of the (4) years' work experience requirement. A valid Class 5 BC driver's license, a clean driving record and Police Information Check is required.
The Town is currently experiencing unprecedented growth. The building inspector position provides an opportunity to further your skills and experience in plan checking and inspections for multi-family dwellings, commercial buildings, and mixed-use developments.
This position is a full-time unionized position that is 35 hours/week. The hourly rate is $40.04-$47.81 per hour, plus an attractive benefits package.

It is Canada's only true desert with the lowest annual precipitation and Sonoran Desert flora and Fauna.
