The Resort Municipality of Osoyoos, BC, located in the beautiful South Okanagan Valley is accepting applications for the position of Bylaw Enforcement Officer.

Position Information

The Town of Osoyoos is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Bylaw Officer. This position performs inspectional, regulatory, and investigational work involving the enforcement of Town Bylaws.

The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in communication, leadership, and conflict resolution with experience and the ability to diffuse hostility in an effective manner. You will have the ability to work both independently and interdependently while exercising sound judgement and initiative. Proven experience, thorough knowledge and the ability to demonstrate the principles, methods, and equipment used in the capture, care, and handling and safe transportation of injured, vicious, or stray animals.

Level 1 Bylaw Compliance, Enforcement and Investigative Skills Certificate and Certificate in Animal Control Basic training along with a valid British Columbia driver's licence are required. The ability to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable Person Check is required. This position will be required to work shift work as well as work weekends and statutory holidays.

Osoyoos is situated in a unique and special environment that includes the warmest freshwater lake in Canada and the warmest annual temperature. It is Canada's only true desert with the lowest annual precipitation and Sonoran Desert flora and fauna. Surrounded by stunning vistas, beautiful vineyards, fabulous golf courses and other outdoor amenities, it is an extraordinary area to visit, play in, and live.
