Employment Opportunity Community Development Manager
The Resort Municipality of Osoyoos, BC located in the beautiful south Okanagan Valley seeks a qualified individual for the position of Community Development Manager. Osoyoos is situated in a unique and special environment that includes the warmest freshwater lake in Canada and the warmest annual temperature. It is Canada’s only true desert with the lowest annual precipitation and Sonoran Desert flora and fauna. Surrounded by stunning vistas, beautiful vineyards, fabulous golf courses and other outdoor amenities it is an extraordinary area to visit, play in and live.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Community Development Manager is responsible for delivering community development projects, including economic and social services, which enables the town’s growth and development.
If you have experience in community and economic development, organizational abilities, collaborative expertise, project management, effective communication & interpersonal skills and you want to be a “Community Champion” for Osoyoos, then this is a position for you.
Post secondary education relating to community and /or economic development or equivalent training combined with at least 3 years of experience in community based program delivery are required. Additional experience in successful grant writing, development of stakeholder relationships and business association development would also be an asset.
