EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Fire Chief Deadline November 27
The Resort Municipality of Osoyoos, BC, located in the beautiful South Okanagan Valley, is accepting applications for the position of Fire Chief. The Osoyoos Fire Department is a composite department consisting of three full-time Chief Officers and a team of paid on call firefighters.
Position Information
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this full-time exempt management position will organize and lead all fire department business, operations, and administration as well as provide incident command at emergency situations of all types. This position plays a key role within the corporate leadership team of the Town. Your work will be integral to developing and facilitating an innovative, efficient, and highly effective on call fire department. In addition to the role of Fire Chief, you will provide advice and expertise to the Town emergency management program as the Deputy Emergency Coordinator, as well as assisting in Bylaw Enforcement.
You will be an excellent communicator, possess strong leadership, interpersonal, and financial management skills and will have a demonstrated history of improving performance utilizing innovation and efficiency rather than expansion and expense.
Osoyoos is situated in a unique and special environment that includes the warmest freshwater lake in Canada and the warmest annual temperature. It is Canada's only true desert with the lowest annual precipitation and Sonoran Desert flora and fauna. Surrounded by stunning vistas, beautiful vineyards, fabulous golf courses, and other outdoor amenities, it is an extraordinary area to visit, play in, and live.
