National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, please join me in honouring First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
The diverse and rich cultural history of Indigenous peoples in the South Okanagan has an important impact on residents in Osoyoos and are the historical backbone of this community. The Town of Osoyoos is honoured to have developed a respectful working relationship with the Osoyoos Indian Band, and is committed to continuing this relationship in the spirit of responsibility and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.

This National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, explore the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences and stories of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Whether you want to read, listen, watch, or try, start your learning journey today.
Please join me today and take a moment to reflect and learn more about the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada. I would like encourage all residents to wear orange to raise awareness of the very tragic legacy of residential schools, and to honour the thousands of Survivors. Every resident of Osoyoos has a role to play in the reconciliation process.
