NEW Director of Planning and Development Services Gina MacKay
The Town of Osoyoos is pleased to announce that Gina MacKay, MCIP, RPP will be starting employment as the Director of Planning and Development Services on January 15, 2018. Ms. MacKay brings an extensive background in planning and development at the senior planner and management levels in both the private and public sectors.
Ms. MacKay’s most recent employment was with the District of Mission as Manager of Long Range Planning and Special Projects. While in this position some of her notable achievements included the preparation of the District’s new Official Community Plan, working with First Nations on Crown land management agreements, administrating complex development proposals and working cooperatively with Habitat for Humanity on a local housing project.
She has worked closely with the municipality’s Economic Development Department in preparing plans for industrial, commercial and residential land use and in the development of incentive programs aimed at increasing employment opportunities for local residents.
Ms. MacKay also brings senior and community planner experience from positions held with the City of Courtenay, Columbia Shuswap Regional District, Bowen Island and the City of Williams Lake.
The Town of Osoyoos completed a national search lead by the excellent professional services of Ms. Marnie Manders whose services are made available from the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen. This search generated many qualified applicants with Ms. MacKay as the outstanding applicant in the process.
The Town of Osoyoos is confident that Ms. MacKay brings the skills, knowledge and personal suitability that will assist Osoyoos in meeting its present and future planning and development challenges.
