Open House for Lakefront Landscape Projects

Location: Sonora Community Centre - Room # 5 (Upstairs)
Time:      6:30pm

All interested members of the public are invited to view and discuss preliminary landscaping designs and cost estimates prepared by Outland Design for various lakefront projects. The doors will open at 6.30pm and Outland’s formal presentation follows at 7.00pm.

Following recommendations from the Waterfront Steering Committee, Council agreed to retain Outland Design to undertake design, tendering and construction management of the following projects:

Gyro Park Multi-Purpose Plaza
The plaza project was one of the priorities identified in the Gyro Park Plan prepared through a recent charrette stakeholder process and endorsed by Council for further public discussion and implementation on a project-by-project basis.

Other Lakefront Landscaping Projects
These projects will continue implementation of the Town’s overall Waterfront Master Plan by filling in the landscaping components of recently completed construction projects around the marina, the new Gyro parking lot, and the lakefront walkway. 
 
All Outland’s graphic designs and cost estimates can be reviewed here or at the Department of Planning and Development Services, located at 8711 Main Street from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (excluding lunch hours from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm) excluding Saturdays and Sundays. Council will consider all of the landscaping projects during their upcoming budgeting discussions, before any final decisions are made to proceed. Council wants your prior input to better inform their decision-making and promote public transparency and accountability.
