Public Notice is hereby given that the Town will host a Public Open House on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm in the Town of Osoyoos Planning and Development Services Office located at 8711 Main Street to inform the public in regards to the Southeast Meadowlark Area Plan Implementation Project.
The Town hired DiStefano Architecture to create urban design concepts and housing models for the Southeast Meadowlark Area. Residents and any other interested persons are invited to drop in and view the concepts.
The Objectives of the Southeast Meadowlark Area Plan are to:
- Manage an orderly transition from the area’s current rural fringe character to become an integral part of the Osoyoos urban area.
- Expand the Town’s supply of much needed lands for medium-density housing to serve a mix of family and other household needs.
- Include a strong affordable housing component for moderate-income working families.
- Accommodate Town needs for a modern strategically-located fire hall.
- Service local residents with amenity areas.
- Develop the area as a showpiece for urban design excellence.
- Support development with efficient and cost-effective urban infrastructure, including streets, sanitary sewers, and water supply and distribution.
