At the August 20, 2012 Regular Open meeting Council awarded a one year contract to B&B Wood Grinding.

The Town of Osoyoos invites proposals to operate the weigh scale at Osoyoos Landfill.  The proposal should be based on providing these services for a period of 3 years with option for renewal for an additional 3 years.  The term will begin September 1, 2012.

The Contractor shall be required to work on a continuous basis during all open hours of the landfill which are currently as follows (subject to change):


Summer Hours of Operation - April 1 - October 31
Tuesdays                            8:00am to 4:00pm
Wednesday through Friday   11:00am to 4:00pm
Saturdays                           8:00am to 4:00pm

Winter Hours of Operation - November 1 - March 31
Tuesdays                            8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Wednesdays                       11:00am to 4:00pm
Saturdays                           8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Closed Christmas & New Years Day


All proposals should include:

  • The rate expected including a callout rate for emergencies;
  • A resume showing any past experience in the collection and accounting of funds, along with any other related experiences listed in the contract requirements;
  • Proof of ability to obtain $1,000,000 liability insurance and ability to obtain performance bond in the amount of $1,500; and any other information that may be pertinent.

The selection of the contractor will be made on the basis of the bid price and experience of the contractor.  The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to accept the proposal deemed most favourable to the interests of the Town.

Please submit your proposal no later than 2:00 pm on Friday, August 10, 2012 in a sealed envelope marked “Weigh Scale Clerk” to:
