Town of Osoyoos CAO Barry Romanko Announces Retirement Plan
For Immediate Release
March 4, 2019
OSOYOOS – The Town of Osoyoos Chief Administrative Officer Barry Romanko has advised Mayor McKortoff and Council that he will be leaving the CAO position effective August 23, 2019.
Romanko leaves this portion of this career in municipal government with mixed emotions. “I have enjoyed working with all of the elected officials and staff over the past three terms throughout my 11 years as Osoyoos CAO”, says Romanko, “but I’m also very excited to have more time with my family, the freedom to travel and experience my leisure pursuits and pursue other options. At this point time I am still focused on the tasks at hand over the next 6 months”.
“Mr. Romanko’s departure in August will be a loss for the Town of Osoyoos. Barry approaches town issues with a sense of professionalism, knowledge, respect and he has instilled a culture of integrity in our organization, says Mayor McKortoff, he will be missed.”
Council has contracted the services of the RDOS Human Resources Department to complete a national search for a new CAO. The search will begin in March with the expectation that a replacement will be in place by the beginning of August.
