VOLUNTEERS Needed for Emergency Support Services (ESS)

The Town of Osoyoos is looking for volunteers to act as Emergency Support Service (ESS) workers during times of emergency. The volunteers would respond to reception centres to assist with registering evacuees and assisting with group lodging, or may be called out to assist in helping those displaced due to individual residential fire or flood. ESS volunteers could be called out any time during the day or night.
 
Volunteers will be trained under the Provincial Emergency Program. Courses are held in the Oliver/Osoyoos/Penticton region and will be free of charge to volunteers as space permits. The first course (Group Lodging) will be held in Oliver, May 26, 2018 from 8:30 – 4:30.
