Candidate Information for 2019 Water Councillor By-Election
Nomination packages including information and nomination forms are available at Town Hall starting Thursday, August 29 , 2019. The nomination period begins at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 and ends at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 27, 2019, excluding statutory holidays and weekends. Nomination forms are to be filed at Town Hall during the nomination period.
To qualify to be nominated, a person must be:
- A Canadian citizen;
- 18 years of age or older;
- Resident of British Columbia for at least six months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
- A person or the commander of an armed forces unit who has been granted freedom of the municipality, if that person is a Canadian citizen; and
- Not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding office.
- must be resident in and user of water in the area serviced by Osoyoos Water District System 8 or 9.
Nomination documents will be available on line as of August 29, 2019.
If you obtained nomination documents from this site please check regularly for any notices regarding changes to the nomination documents or send an email to the Chief Election Officer, Brianne Hillson at brianne@osoyoos.ca and you will be notified directly of any changes or important information regarding the nomination process.
Please ensure your documents are in order and filed no later than 4:00 PM on September 27, 2019. Incomplete nomination documents cannot be accepted as being filed on time so please allow sufficient time for filing.
